Young African Leadership Initiative Network which managed by Bureau of
International Information Programs at U.S Department of State is yet to
have it West African regional center in Ghana.
The Young African Leadership Initiative Network (YALI Network) is a part
of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI- President Obama’s
signature effort to invest in the next generation of African
entrepreneurs, educators, activists and innovators). Nearly one in three
Africans are between the age of 10 and 24 and approximately 60 percent
of Africa’s total population is below the age of 35. The White House
launched YALI in 2010 to support young African leaders as they spur
growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance and enhance
peace and security.
Among these are 15 Ghanaians who has benefited from Young Africans Leadership Initiative Network program.
They are Paul Abiwu, Harriet Yayra Adzofu, Regina Fremah Agyare,
Johannes Thomas Arthur, Laud Ampomah Boateng, Ethel Cofie, Ruka Yaro
De-Liman, Frank Ankowuge Dugasseh. The others are Kwasi Owusu Gyeabour,
Araba Mbirba Hammond, Oteng Kakari, William Kwarah and many more
The opening of this West Africa regional center in Ghana was revealed
when a member asked on YALI Face2face facebook group page on Friday 8,
2015. A member call Emmanuel Chimaramma directed question “Please have the YALI regional center (Ghana) for West Africa been established? Can we have the details please? Thanks
Fellows and members of YALI Network has expressed their overly joy on facebook to see this center in Ghana.
