How To Be Ready To Meet Jesus

Jesus is coming soon and those who are ready shall be taken up to be with Him. This is the event when Jesus will come 'like a thief in the night' to receive His bride unto Himself. We term this event the 'Calling Away' and it is to be distinguished from the Rapture which will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation. Those who partake in the Calling Away will escape the hour of trial that will come upon the whole earth (the final 10½ years which includes the Great Tribulation).

The Requirements

Here we attempt to emphasize the main requirements of what is needed to be ready. For a more in depth study refer to In Search of Truth chapters 25, 17 and 15.10.

Belong to Jesus

Jesus is coming like a thief but He is no thief and will He only take what truly belongs to Him. Thus:
  • Have you ever been at the point where you have given your life and all it entails to Jesus Who has bought you with His blood?
  • Have you confirmed and officially established this fact by being baptized (immersed) in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ?
  • Are you living the surrendered, sold out life (not my will, but Thine be done)?

Be Prepared to Meet Him

In order to be prepared you need to be washed and to be dressed in your wedding garment.
  • Have you been cleansed by the blood of Jesus?
  • Are you clothed in His righteousness and not in your own?

Be Eager to Go

Jesus is coming for those who are expectantly, eagerly waiting to welcome Him. The Bridegroom will be the uppermost thought and desire in the heart and mind of the bride.
  • Do you long for and desire the coming of Jesus?
  • Is there anything (or anybody) on this earth for which sake you will rather stay here than go with Jesus?
By meditating on the above questions, you will know whether you are ready or not. Remember the desire to be with the Lord Jesus is the proof that He wants you to be with Him and that He will not pass you by.
"Watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man."  - Luke 21:36
